European Week of Sport (EWoS) is an event launched by the European Commission, which will be held for the tenth time this year at the European level and for the eighth time in Serbia, in the period from September 23 to 30. During these eight days, a large number of events will be organized across the country with the aim of developing sport and physical activity, as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle.

European Week of Sport is an important European initiative that encourages citizens of all ages to be active and adopt healthy lifestyle habits.

European Week of Sport

Serbia first took part in this event in 2018. Over seven years of European Week of Sport implementation, the Olympic Committee of Serbia, in coordination with the Ministry of Sport, the Delegation of the European Union in Serbia, and numerous partner organizations, managed to engage more than 300,000 children and citizens in Serbia.

As a reminder, during EWoS 2024, more than 200 events were organized in 50 cities and municipalities across the country, with more than 70,000 citizens of all ages taking part.

BeActive 2025
At the center of European Week of Sport 2025 activities will be the celebration of a decade of the positive impact of the BeActive campaign, as well as the promotion of the main slogan of this event: “BeActive: Move more – scroll less”.

In addition, the themes in focus of this year’s European Week of Sport are aimed at promoting movement, health, and unity among all generations and communities, as well as finding balance when it comes to physical activity — to move a little more and scroll a little less.

The national coordinators of European Week of Sport for our country are the Olympic Committee of Serbia and the Ministry of Sport, while the event is co-financed by the European Union.
