The goal of the Olympic Movement is to contribute to building a peaceful and better world by educating young people through sport without discrimination of any kind, in the spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play.

The International Olympic Committee is an international non-governmental non-profit organization and the creator of the Olympic Movement. The IOC is the highest body of the Olympic Movement. It owns all rights to the Olympic symbols: the flag, motto, anthem and the Olympic Games. Its primary responsibility is overseeing the organization of the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.

The International Olympic Committee includes active and former athletes, presidents of international sports federations and national Olympic committees among its members.

The International Olympic Committee currently has 107 members and 2 honorary members. Juan Antonio Samaranch (Spain) is the honorary president for life, as is Thomas Bach (Germany).

Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) was established in 1983 at the proposal of IOC President Samaranch to deal with legal issues that athletes may face. Ten years later, the Court of Arbitration for Sport became an independent body. The purpose of the Court of Arbitration for Sport is to rule in all disputes related to sport that come before it through ordinary arbitration courts or through appeals against the decisions of sports bodies or organizations.

International Fair Play Committee (CIFP)
The Olympic Charter, as one of the basic principles of the Olympic Movement, defines the promotion of the spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play. Fair play implies adherence to sports rules, respect for opponents and the fight against violence and unfair behaviour. The International Fair Play Committee, founded in 1963, is committed to promoting the principles of fair play, which represent the essence of sport. Every year, CIFP presents International Fair Play Awards, which are granted to athletes for their contribution to the affirmation of fair play, regardless of whether they are Olympic champions or beginners, upon the proposal of various organizations and the public.

International Paralympic Committee (IPC)
The International Paralympic Committee is the representative international organization of elite sport for athletes with disabilities. IPC organizes, supervises and coordinates the Paralympic Games and other multi-sport competitions at the highest level. The International Paralympic Committee includes 160 National Paralympic Committees.

World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)
The International Olympic Committee organized the World Conference on Doping in Lausanne from 2 to 4 February 1999. Based on the conclusions of the Conference, on 10 November 1999 the World Anti-Doping Agency was established with the task of promoting and coordinating the fight against doping in international sport.
World Olympians Association (WOA)
The World Olympians Association is an independent global organization of Olympians’ representatives. The initiator of the establishment of this organization was Juan Antonio Samaranch, and its foundations were laid at the IOC Centennial Olympic Congress held in Paris in 1994. The World Olympians Association was founded to involve around 100,000 Olympians worldwide in the activities of the Olympic Movement and to promote Olympic principles and the importance of athlete education, the fight against doping and violence and intolerance in sport, to support diversity and equality in sport and sports management, as well as the realization of Olympians’ rights and participation in humanitarian programs. The patron of WOA is Juan Antonio Samaranch (Spain), the honorary president is Jacques Rogge (Belgium), and the president is Joël Bouzou (France).

Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF)

ASOIF was founded in 1984 at the initiative of 21 international sports federations whose sports were on the program of the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, with the aim of coordinating and protecting the common interests of its members. Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC)

The Association of National Olympic Committees meets at least once every two years to exchange information and experiences with the aim of strengthening its role in the Olympic Movement. ANOC recommends to the IOC the manner of using funds created on the basis of the sale of TV rights, especially the resources of Olympic Solidarity.
