The goal of the Olympic Movement is to contribute to building a peaceful and better world by educating young people through sport without discrimination of any kind, in the spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play.
The International Olympic Committee is an international non-governmental non-profit organization and the creator of the Olympic Movement. The IOC is the highest body of the Olympic Movement. It owns all rights to the Olympic symbols: the flag, motto, anthem and the Olympic Games. Its primary responsibility is overseeing the organization of the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.

Membership
The International Olympic Committee includes active and former athletes, presidents of international sports federations and national Olympic committees among its members.
The International Olympic Committee currently has 107 members and 2 honorary members. Juan Antonio Samaranch (Spain) is the honorary president for life, as is Thomas Bach (Germany).
Objectives
- Promotion of sport and competitions through national and international sports institutions around the world.
- Cooperation with public and private organizations with the aim of placing sport in the service of humanity.
- Support in developing “Sport for All”.
- Advancement of the position of women in sport at all levels and in all structures, with the aim of achieving equality between men and women.

The Association of National Olympic Committees meets at least once every two years to exchange information and experiences with the aim of strengthening its role in the Olympic Movement. ANOC recommends to the IOC the manner of using funds created on the basis of the sale of TV rights, especially the resources of Olympic Solidarity.
