Olympic values are best learned through experience. The Olympic Committee of Serbia has developed a range of programmes that, through sport, play, conversation and interactive activities, encourage children and young people to understand and live the values of excellence, respect and friendship.

Promotion of Olympic Values: Respect, Friendship and Excellence

The "Promotion of Olympic Values: Respect, Friendship and Excellence" programme was implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia, with the support of Olympic Solidarity, with the aim of bringing Olympic values closer to primary school pupils through sport, play and experiential learning. The programme included pupils aged 10 to 14, teachers and school principals, providing them with modern educational materials and methodological support for applying Olympic values in the school environment.

After teacher training, schools created and carried out activities marking Olympic Day, linking Olympic values with teaching, sport and pupils' creative work. The programme concluded with a national final, at which pupils presented their ideas, knowledge and team spirit through knowledge quizzes, creative challenges and sports activities.

During the implementation of the programme, 115 primary schools from 17 districts in Serbia participated, along with more than 1,500 teachers and over 24,000 pupils, laying the foundation for the further development of the "Olympic Values" programme and its integration into the education system of the Republic of Serbia.

The quality and importance of the programme have been recognised internationally. In 2025, the programme received the prestigious award of the European Olympic Academies — the EOA Flame Award — in the category of best project in the field of Olympic education.

Olympic Class

"Olympic Class" is an interactive educational programme that brings Olympic values and the world of Olympism closer to children through play, storytelling, dialogue and hands-on activities. The programme is organised through five thematic stations symbolising the five continents and five values — the joy of play, fair play, respect, excellence, and the unity of spirit, body and mind.

Through interactive workshops, pupils learn about the history of the Olympic Games, Olympic symbols, various sports, and inspiring stories of Olympic champions, learning to recognise and apply Olympic values in everyday life.

Talk with a Champion

"Talk with a Champion" is an educational programme that gives pupils a unique opportunity to meet Olympians and other elite athletes, hear their personal stories, and talk about the values that led them to success. Through direct encounters with champions, pupils discover that behind every medal lies hard work, perseverance, dedication, fair play and a love of sport.

Through an interactive conversation, pupils have the opportunity to ask questions, learn more about athletes' Olympic journeys and draw inspiration from their experiences, developing motivation for playing sport and adopting healthy life values.

During 2023 and 2024, 13 events were held across Serbia with the participation of 14 Olympians and elite athletes and 2,100 pupils. The champions who took part in the programme were: Tijana Bogdanović, Damir Mikec, Ivana Anđušić Maksimović, Milan Aleksić, Aleksandar Kukolj, Strahinja Bunčić, Milica Nikolić, Sonja Vasić, Nevena Jovanović, Anja Crevar, Lazar Kovačević, Zoran Pančić, Svetlana Obućina and Milica Đuričić.
