The main objectives of the Olympic Committee of Serbia are to promote the ideas of Olympism and the development of sport in general, to develop and protect the Olympic Movement in Serbia, and to represent the country at the Olympic Games and at world, continental, and regional competitions.
The Olympic Committee of Serbia is a non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit sports organization that is part of the Olympic Movement and respects the fundamental principles of the international Olympic Movement contained in the Olympic Charter and the Anti-Doping Code. The main objectives of the Olympic Committee of Serbia are to promote the ideas of Olympism and the development of sport in general, to develop and protect the Olympic Movement in Serbia, and to represent the country at the Olympic Games and at world, continental, and regional competitions held under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. The Olympic Committee of Serbia continues the tradition of the Serbian Olympic Club (Committee), founded in 1910, and the Yugoslav Olympic Committee, which succeeded it in 1919, as well as the Olympic Committee of Serbia and Montenegro, which succeeded it on April 3, 2003, and operated until June 8, 2006.
