A permanent body of the Olympic Committee of Serbia is the Sports Commission, which:

  • represents the rights and interests of athletes and provides recommendations in this regard;
  • reviews issues related to athletes and informs the OCS accordingly;
  • takes care of athletes’ education;
  • ensures respect for and implementation of the IOC Code of Ethics;
  • cooperates with the IOC Athletes’ Commission and the Athletes’ Commission of the European Olympic Committees;
  • in cooperation with athletes’ commissions of national sports federations of Olympic sports that are members of the OCS, proposes candidates from Serbia for the IOC and EOC Athletes’ Commissions, based on criteria defined by the IOC and the European Olympic Committees;
  • ensures respect for the provisions of the IOC Charter concerning athletes, fights against all forms of discrimination and violence in sport, and against the use of substances and methods prohibited by the IOC, in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code, within the territory of the Republic of Serbia.
Members of the OCS Sports Commission are appointed by the athletes’ commissions of national sports federations of Olympic sports for a period of four years and may be reappointed. The Presidency of the OCS has the right to nominate two athletes as members of the Sports Commission.
